2015 College Prep Program

Coach 2

Purpose: To assist players is reaching their goals of playing golf at the collegiate level and enhancing their high school golf success. Creating a practice and learning environment that breeds success through group practice, on-course instruction, full game private instruction, and fitness workout sessions.

Ages: 9th – 12th Grades

Groups:  These groups will be determined by ability

Ratio: 4:1 Player to teacher

Cost: Contact for semester and monthly pricing

Semester:

  • Winter Semester (January-April)
  • Summer Semester (May-August)
  • Fall Semester (September-December)

Summer Semester Prep Program Includes

  • Weekly, 2 hour group practices
  • 3 Hours of private instruction monthly
  • 2, weekly 18-hole accountability rounds to be recorded and analyzed, when the golf course is available.  These rounds will be played after or before the weekly sessions. (Summer and Fall Semesters)
  • Student profile on www.danielrgray.com where students can keep track of their current swing plans and fitness programs
  • Player specific golf fitness plan (Player’s Choice)

Fall Semester Prep Program Includes:

  • Weekly, 1 Hour Fitness Workouts at Redefined Fitness
  • Weekly, 1 Hour Fitness Workouts at Skokie CC Facility
  • 3, three hour group practice sessions
  • Individual times (Optional)

Winter Semester Prep Program Includes:

  • Weekly, 1 Hour Fitness Workouts at Redefined Fitness
  • Weekly, Two hour group practice sessions
  • 2 Individual Sessions Monthly

Areas of Focus:

Players in this program should select what they need from the program. This program is to help players fill in the gaps and gain information about games that they may have questions about. Each group session will be focused around competing and challenging each other to become better players and the individual time will be focused around whatever area of the game the player and coach see fit. This program is designed to be more flexible to fit the needs of the player and it is up to the player to select where they will spend their individual time.

  • Fullswing technique and practice drills specific to the player needs
  • Putting techniques and practice drills specific to the player needs
  • Focus on wedge play and short game creativity skills
  • Shot shape, yardage control, and trajectory control (All Semesters, Winter on GC2 Launch Monitor)
  • Assistance in tournament selection to fit each player
  • Tournament preparation and mental approach
  • Indoor simulator competitions (Winter Semester)
  • Assistance with understanding college golf team prospecting and selection
  • Assistance with resume for college golf coach interviews

*Students are working out at their own risk, but all methods will be used with caution and in accordance to the student’s physical abilities and goals. All players will also go through a fitness evaluation to determine a base line that will structure their future workouts.

Ratio: 4:1 Player to Teacher Max

  • Fall Semester (September-December)

Instructional Program Details

  • Weekly 2 hour sessions (on-course, practice, drills, specific short game shots, and competitions)
  • 2 Hours of private instruction each month
  • 2, weekly 18-hole accountability rounds to be recorded and analyzed, when the golf course is available.  These rounds will be played after or before the weekly sessions. (Summer and Fall Semesters)

Player’s Commitment Agreement

  • I will be on time and properly warmed up before each practice and if i will be unable to attend I will give 24 hours notice.
  • I will dedicate at least 2 hours per week to team practice, 2-hour per month to individual instruction, and 4-8 hours per week to my weekly accountability rounds, plus 8 hours monthly personal practice time.
  • I will carry a positive attitude towards the team and all other team members
  • I am responsible for the improvements made in my golf game and I commit to taking responsibility of my own golf game and practice time.

2015 Junior High Prep Program

Purpose: To encourage players to work on the basic fundamentals golf and assist them reach the level of play that matches their goals and aspirations. This is an introductory program that feeds into the High School and College Prep Programs and players are allowed to grow at their own pace.

Ages: 5th-6th Grades

Ratio: 4:1 Player to Teacher

Cost:  Contact for semester and monthly pricing

Semester Time Periods:

  • Winter Semester (January-April)
  • Summer Semester (May-August)
  • Fall Semester (September-December)

Program Includes

  • 4 monthly, One and a half hour group sessions
  • 2, individual sessions per month

Areas of Focus

  • Fullswing fundamentals – GAP: Grip, Alignment, Posture
  • Putting fundamentals – GAP: Grip, Alignment, Posture
  • Short game fundamentals
  • Basic pitching and chipping technique
  • Bunker play (summer and fall Semesters)
  • Rules, etiquette, and basic knowledge of the game/equipment
  • Month playing matches as Skokie (summer and fall semesters)
